Your consultation includes a thorough evaluation
Getting started on your road to recovery can be confusing. We can guide you. To receive a free consultation at Mind Body Physical Therapy, call (530) 541-7133 or stop by our Lake Tahoe office to set up an appointment. You don't need a referral.
Please come to your free consultation in clothes that you can adjust or remove to expose the appropriate body part. Your physical therapist will ask you about the injury you are experiencing. Then your physical therapist will analyze your injury using objective measures as part of the evaluation.
Your SOAP note includes PT
findings and diagnoses
After your evaluation, you will be given a SOAP note (Subjective, Objective, Assessment and Plan) documenting the physical therapist's findings and your potential diagnoses to take home with you. At the end of your consultation you will be given recommendations on whether or not you need physical therapy, referrals to other health care providers who may be able to help you, and what actions you can take to avoid or decrease risk of further injury.
Your recovery time will vary depending on many factors: the type of tissue damaged, the amount and severity of associated injury, location, cessation of causal activity if applicable, stage of recovery and other factors. Our assessment may more clearly define these factors and give you an idea of your recovery time. In general, you may expect these recovery times: bruises and contusions, 2 weeks; tendonitis, 2-4 weeks or more; sprains and strains, 2-6 weeks; soft tissue, 6 weeks; fractures, 2-12 weeks; low back pain, 6 weeks; sciatica, up to 2 years (for low back pain and sciatica, you may want to consider a Pilates program to aid your recovery). For more information, see our list of common injuries.
